Year 1 Spelling Homework - wc 27th November
Spelling Rule: Adding the suffixes -s and -es
Why do we have this rule? When using the plural of a noun. We generally use -s but if a word ends in x, sh, s or ch, we use -es.
Word list:
dog - dogs
torch - torches
box - boxes
church - churches
bush - bushes
hat - hats
Please encourage your child to orally compose a sentence with their spellings and remember it to recall. This is something they are finding tricky in English sessions at the moment. They can write it down if appropriate but this is not essential.
